Paskong Pinoy

Celebrating Christmas here in Philippines is one of the most famous celebration in Asia, of course we are the 4th largest Christian country in Asia.

The Philippine Christmas tradition is observing the longest holiday in the world,  as early as September and ends to the first week of January, however the official day to start preparing for Christmas is the start of Simbang Gabi or mass at dawn or nine mornings. We Filipinos are so excited about this celebration. It is a significant moment not only because it strengthens relationships among family members  but also because it is the time where our faith is intensified.  This is the time where we mostly feel the presence of the Lord because it is the spiritual preparation for Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ.

One of the most exciting parts of the Philippine Christmas tradition is the Noche Buena which is the Christmas feast, the big ball of cheese and the succulent Christmas Ham. Some are buying gifts for their loved ones and friends, buying their new clothes and shoes, etc.
The true meaning of Christmas is about being generous, for God so loved the world the he gave his only son for us, so let us be generous not just by giving material gifts but also sharing our love.
"Give until it hurts no more."

Merry Christmas everyone!

right you are. Christmas is giving just like the way the Lord gave us His son that we shall be saved. Merry Christmas!
