Reflecting on The story of Bartimaeus | Luke 18:35-43

This Gospel tells the powerful story of a blind man whose faith brought him healing and salvation. Sitting on the roadside, he hears that Jesus is passing by and cries out with boldness, “Jesus, Son of David, have pity on me!” Despite the crowd’s attempts to silence him, he persists, believing in the mercy and power of Christ.

When Jesus asks, “What do you want me to do for you?” the man responds with clarity and trust: “Lord, please let me see.” His faith is unwavering, and Jesus restores his sight, saying, “Your faith has saved you.” Immediately, the man follows Jesus, giving glory to God, inspiring others to praise Him as well.

This passage reminds us to approach Jesus with boldness and persistence in our prayers, even when others discourage us. It calls us to trust in His ability to heal, guide, and save us. Like the blind man, we must have faith that Jesus hears our cries and responds with compassion.

Prayer:
Lord Jesus, grant us the faith of the blind man, who trusted in You despite the obstacles. Open our eyes to Your presence and lead us to follow You, giving glory to God in all we do. Amen.
